In April 1987 Sotheby’s conducted “the sale of the 20th century”—a collection of jewels amassed by the Duke of Windsor, given to his lover and then wife Wallis Simpson, Duchess of Windsor.

With a life-long fascination about the lives of King Edward VIII and his wife after the abdication, Adrian visited Paris in 2013 to discover more about the possessions and fashion style of this legendary “royal outcast” couple.

This talk describes many of the jewels given to “the woman he loved” and discusses some of their other possessions including their clothes and fashion style and a few of their eccentricities!
