Inspired by The Johnston Collection of East Melbourne’s “Swagger–Gentlemen of Fashion” Exhibition, this talk takes us on a 250-year journey via pieces favoured by fashionable gentlemen over these two centuries, and that are now having a resurgence. Fashion and style have come around again!

From stick pins to walking canes, posey holders and Albert chains, to dress jewellery and signet rings, this talk explains the adornments chosen by gentlemen of the day. And in 2025, choices made by Royalty, aristocrats, celebrities and jewellers reflect a renewed desire for some men to stand out from the mundane throng!
