The Crown Jewels are historic and are used during every Coronation. Yet during the Coronation, you are going to see these historic artefacts on display, out of their usual home in the Tower of London.

As well as playing an important role in the traditions and ceremonies of the British monarchy, they can also be political, especially those that have colonial ties.

Adrian Dickens, a Melbourne-based jewellery historian with more than forty years experience in the field, explained the significance of the stones to Alice Zaslavsky.
